The company
I first travelled to Paxos in September 1982, not having visited Greece before and was immediately struck by the friendliness of the locals and the feeling that as well as being on holiday, I was actually joining a Greek community during my time on the island. Early on in that stay my wallet, containing cash and travellers cheques, slipped out of my pocket on the steep, stony, unlit path home one night. The next day it was found by one of the Lakka villagers who sought me out and returned it to me intact. We have been friends ever since.
Of course since then much has changed on the island – many more visitors, better quality accommodation, more people working there and a big increase in the numbers of tavernas, restaurants and bars. However this place remains in essence, a tiny unspoilt 12 square miles of olives and cypress and I am delighted, not only to have retained my connection with Paxos, but to have the privilege of working there as well.
I have taken over the company from its founder, Gerry Copsey, and my aim is to continue the philosophy of the Planos Holidays created by Gerry whilst adding a few ideas of my own – a programme containing something for everyone presented to potential clients by well-informed sales staff with a real working knowledge of Paxos, all of which backed up by a strong presence on the island to advise and assist during your holiday.
The UK people
As I have personally assembled the programme represented in this brochure, I will be the first person to answer the phone generally and will be on hand to answer all sales and operational queries. Leza Sheppard will assist me in her sales role and will also deal with all the after-sales admin. On occasions however you might spot us both in Paxos!

The Corfu people
On arrival at Corfu Airport you will be met and greeted by Jilly and Linda who will direct you to your coach, minibus or taxi transfer to the New Port. At the Port you will be looked after by Theo and he will be responsible for escorting you to your ferry to Paxos and distributing tickets where appropriate. On your return home, passing through Corfu in the opposite direction, the same faces will be there to help and our airport staff will assist you to check in for your flight back to the UK.

The Paxos people
Panagiotis Aronis (Pano to everyone) is our Agent on Paxos and he has offices in both Lakka and Loggos. During the summer he provides representative services for us and co-ordinates our transfers and the changeover of accommodation. At the height of the season we have a team of 6-8 people on the island, most of whom are locals and members of the Aronis family. Mary Buckley is our full-time resident Island Manager and, together with Pano, she will be looking after all your holiday needs on Paxos. You will normally find her in one of our two offices in Lakka and Loggos between the hours of 9am-2pm in the morning and 6pm-8.30pm in the evenings Mondays-Saturdays. Mary joined Planos Holidays for a summer season as part of her Tourism Degree course at the Swansea Institute of Tourism and Leisure. She later graduated from Swansea with an honours degree in Tourism in 2000. She now lives on Paxos and is part of the Paxos local community – there could not be a more qualified person to help you during your holiday on the island!
